“I’m sorry, going to where?” I asked, assuming that we had made a plan that slipped my mind in between glasses of wine at the restaurant the night before.

“Ghost Stories!” she said in a spooky voice with the fingers of both hands wagging in the air like a stereotypical, wicked, old witch.

“It’s Tuesday already? Time flies when you’re having…fun?”

Julia laughed. “Our new friends might prove to be helpful in some way.”
